RedNudge for Slack: AI-scored Reddit alerts in the channel where your team already lives

RedNudge's Slack integration pipes AI-scored Reddit matches into the Slack channel of your choice — every match read by Claude, tagged with a 1–10 relevance score and an intent label (Buy intent, Recommendation, Question, Complaint). Connect once with the official "Add to Slack" button, pick a channel, and choose how you want to be pinged: real-time alerts the moment a high-scoring thread is found, a once-a-day digest, or both.

What RedNudge for Slack does

  • Real-time alerts: Slack DM or channel ping the moment a high-relevance match is scored (within ~30 minutes of the Reddit post).
  • Daily digest: ranked summary delivered once a day at your chosen time, grouped by keyword.
  • Both modes: real-time pings for high-scoring threads + daily digest of everything else — no double notification.
  • Channel routing: pick any public or private channel during the OAuth install. Switch later from the dashboard.
  • Per-keyword subreddit scope: keyword "stripe" scoped to r/saas, keyword "rednudge" open to all of Reddit.
  • Intent + score in every message: skim by emoji (🔥 high score / 💰 Buy intent / ❓ Question) instead of reading every line.
  • Official Slack OAuth: no webhook URL to copy/paste, no API token to manage. Approve once and you're done.

How to connect Slack — under 60 seconds

  1. 1

    Sign in to RedNudge

Log in to your RedNudge dashboard at rednudge.com. If you do not have an account yet, the 7-day free trial includes the Slack integration with no credit card required.

  2. 2

    Open notification settings

Go to Settings → Notifications in the dashboard. You will see a Slack section with the official "Add to Slack" button.

  3. 3

    Click "Add to Slack"

Click the button. Slack will ask which workspace to install RedNudge into and which channel to deliver matches to. Approve the OAuth scopes.

  4. 4

    Pick your alert mode

After install you return to RedNudge with the connection live. Choose one of three modes: daily digest only (one message per day), real-time alerts only (ping the moment a high-scoring match is found), or both.

  5. 5

Set keywords + minimum score (optional)

If you have not already, add the keywords you want monitored under Settings → Keywords. You can also raise the minimum relevance score (default 7) so only the highest-signal matches reach Slack.

What gets sent to Slack

Each Slack message includes the Reddit post title (linked to the thread), the subreddit, the keyword that matched, the AI relevance score (1–10), the intent tag (Buy intent / Recommendation / Question / Complaint), and a one-line Claude-generated summary so you can decide whether to open the thread without leaving Slack. Matches scored below your relevance threshold (default 7/10) are filtered out before they ever reach Slack. The default cuts roughly 60–70% of noise; raise the threshold if your channel feels noisy, lower it if you feel like you are missing things.

Real-time alerts vs daily digest — which to pick

Real-time alerts: best for high-stakes keywords like buyer-intent terms ("looking for a CRM"), urgent brand mentions, or competitor activity you want to respond to fast. Pings arrive within ~30 minutes of the Reddit post going up — fast enough to comment while the thread is still on the subreddit front page. Daily digest: best for lower-stakes monitoring where you would rather batch read once a morning than be interrupted. Comes as a single Slack message grouped by keyword with the top matches at the top. Both: real-time for high-scoring matches (8+ by default), digest for everything else. This is the most common setup for founders who do not want to miss buyer-intent threads but also do not want their channel pinged 30 times a day.

Channel routing and privacy

During the OAuth install, Slack asks which channel to deliver to. You can pick any public channel, any private channel you are in, or a Slack DM to yourself. Most teams pick a dedicated channel like #reddit-leads or #brand-mentions so the signal does not bury team chat. RedNudge only sends to the channel you authorized — we have no permission to post anywhere else. If you want to change the channel later, disconnect and re-authorize with the new channel selected.

How RedNudge's Slack integration compares to alternatives

F5Bot: email only, no Slack integration. Google Alerts: email only, no Slack integration. (You can pipe Gmail → Slack via Zapier but the noise rate makes it unusable in a shared channel.) GummySearch: dashboard-first, no native Slack delivery. Brand24: has Slack but it pings on every mention with no relevance scoring — the channel becomes noise. Octolens: has Slack with AI scoring, similar shape — at $49/mo Starter vs RedNudge's $7/mo Starter. Syften: has Slack but matches are keyword-only (no AI scoring), so the channel sees every hit. The wedge: RedNudge is the cheapest tool that combines AI-scored relevance + intent tagging + native Slack delivery in one product.

What this replaces in your workflow

If you currently get F5Bot emails forwarded to a Slack channel via inbox rules, this replaces that with cleaner, scored, summarized messages — and the channel stops flooding on viral days. If you currently have a Zapier flow piping Google Alerts → Slack, this replaces that with Reddit-native depth (subreddit context, comment scoring) the Zapier flow cannot give you. If you do not have Reddit signal in Slack yet, this is the cheapest way to get it in.

FAQ

  • Is the Slack integration free, or is it an add-on?

Included in every paid RedNudge plan at no extra cost — Starter ($7/mo), Pro ($15/mo), and above all get the same Slack integration with the same delivery modes. The 7-day free trial includes it too, so you can wire it up before you decide to pay.

  • Can I send to multiple Slack channels?

One channel per RedNudge account today. The OAuth install asks which channel during setup; you can change it later by reconnecting. If you need to route different keywords to different channels (e.g. brand mentions to #marketing, buyer-intent threads to #sales), that is on the roadmap but not yet shipped — let us know via support if you need it.

  • Will RedNudge spam my Slack channel?

Not if the relevance threshold is set sensibly. By default RedNudge only sends matches scored 7/10 or higher, which filters out about 60–70% of raw matches. On a typical brand keyword that produces 2–8 Slack messages a day. Raise the threshold to 8 or 9 if your channel still feels noisy, lower it to 5 or 6 if you want every signal.

  • How fast does a Reddit post reach my Slack channel?

Real-time mode: within about 30 minutes of the Reddit post going up. That is bounded by our 30-minute scan cadence — we scan Reddit for your keywords every 30 minutes, score new matches with Claude, and dispatch to Slack immediately after scoring. Daily digest mode: at your chosen digest time (default 8 AM in your timezone).

  • What permissions does the Slack app request?

The standard OAuth scopes for posting to one channel: `chat:write` and `channels:read`. RedNudge cannot read your Slack messages, cannot post to channels you did not authorize, and cannot DM your team. The scopes are visible in Slack's consent screen during install.

  • How do I disconnect Slack?

Go to Settings → Notifications → Slack and click "Disconnect". You can also revoke from Slack's side: Settings → Manage apps → RedNudge → Remove. Either action stops all Slack delivery immediately. You can re-authorize anytime; your keywords and scoring history stay intact.

  • Does the Slack integration replace email digests, or run alongside?

Runs alongside by default — you keep getting email digests and Slack alerts in parallel. If you want Slack-only delivery, turn off email digests under Settings → Notifications. Most teams keep both: email for personal scanning, Slack for team-visible signal.
